Session A:
Class 1 – Introduction

•    Getting to know one another
•    "Cuing In”:  appropriate response to the baby’s needs
Class 2 – Rhythm of Activities
•    Sleeping, over-stimulation & soothing
•    Feeding, burping and diapering
Class 3 – Attachment & Trust
•    Attachment: Caregiving roles
•    Establishing a schedule - patterning and sequencing in relation to basic trust
Class 4 – Nutrition & Maternal Health
•    Nursing and bottle-feeding
•    Returning to 'normal' - our hormones, our bodies and more

Session B:
Class 1 – Family & Relationships

•    Partner’s role in caregiving / sharing of responsibility
•    Grandparents' role & expectations
Class 2 – Special Topics
•    Safety: SIDS and Choking
•    Tummy time
•    Traveling w/baby
Class 3 – Highlights in Development
•    Brain development
•    Assessing communication, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, problem solving, personal and social development
Class 4 – Stimulation / Play
•    Stimulation: Ways to spend time with the baby, addressing language, visual, tactile and motor stimulation
•    Going outdoors: Stimulation from dressing, outdoor air, a change of scenery
•    End of course review and questions
