The Empowered Parenting series is a community-based program that provides parents with a unique combination of education and support. In addition to helping you develop your own parenting philosophy, each class series is designed to help you accomplish three important goals:
  • Make informed, conscious choices that help you and your child learn and grow to your full potential together
  • Build a supportive community for you and your baby
  • Enjoy being a parent
Weekly classes are composed of a small group of parents with their babies, typically between 5 to 8 parent-baby pairs, with children born within a couple months of each other. The curriculum is tailored to each age group and your concerns, ensuring that topics are age-appropriate and address challenges you currently face. As a jumping point for discussion, your facilitator will present multiple perspectives, in an easy-to-digest and non-judgmental format, derived from the latest research and expert opinions. Class materials summarizing these perspectives are available for later reference. In addition, you will share and learn from the experiences of both new and veteran parents, drawing from a wider community of support.

Classes are currently offered in the Noe Valley neighborhood of San Francisco at MoBu Dance Studio, 1605 Church Street (at 28th). It is easily accessible by Muni via the J-Church, and there is ample street parking.
